Sponsor a Horse

To keep Avalon's program affordable and accessible, riders only pay a nominal fee. A small portion of Avalon's budget is generated from rider revenue with the balance of funding coming from private donations and our scholarship program. Would you please help Avalon's riders continue to benefit from horses like these special therapists? Please contact us directly to arrange for a horse sponsorship. Thank you for your consideration.

He often helps heavier riders who need help developing balance and core strength. Before becoming a part of Avalon, Johnnie was a trail horse and used as an English and western lesson horse. He also gives kisses on command for a treat!
Renny

Renny

24 year old P.O.A. gelding. Renny was acquired by Avalon in 2002. At 14.1 hands with a unique spotted coat, Renny is a favorite of many of Avalon's younger riders. Reliable in any situation, Renny is wise in his years and sets the standard for hard work and dependability. Prior to his life at Avalon, Renny was a trail horse and used for summer camp riders. In 2007, Renny developed an infection in his right eye resulting in near blindness. Thankfully, this condition has not affected his ability to be used in the program. If anything, it's made him more endearing!
Callahan

Callahan

11 year old Haflinger/Welsh Pony gelding. With his small stature and compact body, Cal's gait provides valuable sensory input for many of our autistic riders. Callahan joined Avalon in 2002 and was a child's backyard pet. After an extensive orientation period, Callahan has proven to be a very energetic addition to our therapy program. Cal is a beautiful horse with a golden coat and long flaxen mane. He is a favorite of volunteers and riders alike.
Cody

Cody

13 year old Paint gelding. Cody joined Avalon in 2006 and quickly became a part of the program. Initially used for more independent riders, Cody soon became dependable for all riders. Prior to his life at Avalon, Cody was first a child's show horse, then became another family's first horse. He is very well trained and is a valuable asset to the program.
Willie

Willie

19 year old Quarter Horse gelding. At 15.3 hands, Willie is the tallest horse in the program. He has proven to be a wonderful school horse, and is used for both therapy and able-bodied lessons. Though tall, Willie has very smooth gaits and is a great horse to learn to ride on. He joined Avalon's program in 2003 and most of his history is unknown.
Hannah

Hannah

21 year old Connemara mare. Hannah is the newest addition to Avalon. At 14 hands, she is the perfect size for our older child/young adult riders. Previously a child's hunter show pony, Hannah is extremely well trained and tolerant of any rider's skill level. Sweet natured with a very forward gait, we are extremely excited to have her on our team.
Chance

Chance

7 year old Grade gelding. Chance is the youngest horse at Avalon and was acquired in 2005. He has a very loving, trusting disposition and is currently a therapy horse in training. Chance was green broke with little experience when he arrived and quickly became a volunteer favorite. We look forward to a long and rewarding future with Chance, as he has all the desireable traits of a quality therapeutic horse.
Willie B

Willie B

15 year old Morgan gelding. Willie B joined Avalon in 2006 and was previously a trail/pleasure horse. Though much of Willie B's history is unknown, he has a very impressive pedigree. Currently a therapy horse in training, he has smooth gaits and is quick to learn. We expect him to join the therapy team soon.
Cherokee

Flyte

Flyte

32 year old Arabian mare. Flyte was also one of the first therapy horses at Avalon. Tolerant and kind, many riders rode Flyte as their first mount at Avalon. She is owned by Dr.'s Jim and Kimmy Casserly and enjoys a life of retirement with her best friend Sassy.
Mirame

10 year old Friesian/Morgan mare. Sweet natured, beautiful, and BIG, Jubilee is every little girl's dream horse. Acquired in 2005, Jubilee is a therapy horse in training. In the meantime to add to her life experience, she has been shown lightly hunter under saddle. She is also proving to be a valuable school horse for able-bodied lessons and pleasure riding.
Barney

Barney

13 year old Anglo-Arabian gelding. Personally owned by John Williamson, Barney was rescued at age 2 and is the comic relief in Avalon's pasture. Due to degenerative suspensory ligament desmitis and subsequent surgery, Barney is not a part of Avalon's riding program. He is ridden lightly and enjoyed by all for his amusing antics in the pasture.
CeCe

CeCe

16 year old Thoroughbred gelding. Personally owned by Barb Williamson. CeCe towers over the other horses at 16.3 hands and is the boss horse of the pasture. Orginally trained as a dressage horse, CeCe also enjoys jumping and went to his first horse show the summer of 2007. CeCe, Barney, and Jubilee formed an immediate bond and spend alot of time together in the pasture.
